The Story of an Epidemic: The Changing Face of HIV in South Africa

The People Matter Week Lecture will be given by the founder and Executive Director of the Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute, Professor Helen Rees OBE and will explore the evolution of the fight against HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

Professor Rees serves as a technical expert to many international organisations including the Global Alliance on Vaccines and Immunisation, the HIV Vaccine Advisory Committee and the HPV Vaccine expert committee of the World Health Organization, the Population Council and the US National Institutes of Health. She is currently member of the Board of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, IAVI.​

Then you should try our Yoga for Sports class to work on your flexibility, core strength, focus and balance – with some relaxation thrown in too!

Take out some time from your busy schedule and relax at this free Yoga class.

Bring a colleague or friend along with you.

All equipment provided.  Just wear comfortable clothing and take a bottle of water with you.

Relaxation Workshop # 2

Join Rosemary Parkinson from the University Staff Counselling Service to unwind in the middle of your busy day – it may well make your afternoon more relaxed and productive.

Rosemary will share some tips for relaxing in the workplace on a daily basis.

The Secret Life of Books: University Library Tour # 4

Take a tour of the University Library and discover its 600-year history and famous architecture. Look behind the scenes and learn about its role as a Legal Deposit (copyright) library.

All tours will include a visit to the Reading Room, closed access book storage areas and the Legal Deposit department.
