The Story of an Epidemic: The Changing Face of HIV in South Africa The People Matter Week Lecture will be given by the founder and Executive Director of the Wits Reproductive Health and HIV Institute, Professor Helen Rees OBE and will explore the evolution of the fight against HIV/AIDS in South Africa. Professor Rees serves as a technical expert to many international organisations including the Global Alliance on Vaccines and Immunisation, the HIV Vaccine Advisory Committee and the HPV Vaccine expert committee of the World Health Organization, the Population Council and the US National Institutes of Health. She is currently member of the Board of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, IAVI. |

The Secret Life of Books: University Library Tour # 4Take a tour of the University Library and discover its 600-year history and famous architecture. Look behind the scenes and learn about its role as a Legal Deposit (copyright) library. All tours will include a visit to the Reading Room, closed access book storage areas and the Legal Deposit department. This tour is also available on the 16th, 18th & 26th June.
