Beyond ‘Man Up’: Men, Resilience and Wellbeing for University Staff

Wellbeing, mental health and resilience are increasingly being recognized as important. Yet, many people don’t reflect on the how they can influence their wellbeing through practices and approaches.

Men in particular are characterized as avoiding conversations and reflection on their own wellbeing, hiding behind their work, or stereotypical phases such as ‘man up’.

This interactive session run by the Good Lad Initiative will give participants the chance to talk with one another about the links between masculinities and their wellbeing. We will then workshop pragmatic alternatives and skills for coping with stress and improving wellbeing.
